Nelson Mandela wrote a will on a single sheet of A4 paper in which he asked to be buried on a remote hillside in his ancestral home of Qunu, it has emerged.
The former South African president, 94, remains in a critical but stable condition in hospital in Pretoria where he has spent the last 21 days being treated for a lung infection.
In January 1996, while still serving as president, Mr Mandela reportedly drew up a rudimentary will in which he asked for a simple burial close to the village where he grew up on the Eastern cape.

He said that while he would be happy with a state memorial service in Pretoria he wanted to buried in the family plot with just a simple headstone to mark the site of his grave.
The South African Mail and Guardian reported a long-standing family friend as saying: ‘He never gave death a great deal of thought, but he never wanted anything fancy’.
Despite the fact that sales of Mr Mandela’s book Long Walk To Freedom, and artworks bearing his name, had earned him millions in royalties his will was reportedly presented on a single sheet of A4 paper.

According to South Africa’s national broadcaster SABC, the question of Mr Mandela’s final resting place has this week sparked a bitter family feud.
Mr Mandela’s oldest daughter, Makaziwe, and 15 other family members have pressed a court application to get Mr Mandela’s grandson to return the bodies of three of Mr Mandela’s children to their original graves in Qunu.
The grandson, Mandla Mandela, acknowledges having reburied the three bodies 13 miles away in the Mvezo village, where he plans to create a Mandela shrine, hotel and football stadium.
Mandla Mandela has until tomorrow to respond to the court filing, reports said.

Nelson Mandela built his retirement home in Qunu and was living there until his repeated hospital stays which started at the end of last year.
The anti-apartheid leader attended the burial of his son at the family plot in Qunu in 2005, and it was widely expected that the leader himself will be buried there.
But his grandson exhumed the bodies of Mr Mandela’s three children and moved them to nearby Mvezo, which is the former president’s birthplace and the grandson holds authority as chief.
Eldest daughter Makaziwe and other Mandela family members want the family bodies returned to their original graves in Qunu, according to the reports.

2015: I Could Be PDP Presidential Flag Bearer – Lamido

2015: I Could Be PDP Presidential Flag Bearer – Lamido

Sule-LamidoMuch touted presidential hopeful and Governor of Jigawa state, Alhaji Sule Lamido, has declared that the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) is a large party and anyone of its members can become President in 2015.
Lamido, who is widely believed to be nursing a presidential ambition in 2015, was speaking in an interview with Channels Television where he narrated his chances of clinching the PDP ticket for the forthcoming general elections.
He said, “Anybody in the PDP can become the President,” adding that “It can be me; it can be Jonathan or anybody”.
Lamido, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Olusegun Obasanjo administration, also restated his firm belief in the democratic tenets of nomination just as he said it will be selfish and arrogant of him if he declares such an ambition without the essential nomination by his people.

Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Reconstruction To Cost N160.7bn

Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Reconstruction To Cost N160.7bn

The reconstruction of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway will cost the Federal Government N160.7bn.
This figure was disclosed to our correspondent by the Senior Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, in an exclusive interview in Abuja on Tuesday.
Okupe said the road would consist of three lanes on either side from Lagos up to the Sagamu interchange, and two lanes from there up to Ibadan.
He also said that there would be a flyover and inter-change at the Redemption Camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God to solve the traffic gridlock on that portion of the road.
Okupe said, “The Lagos-Ibadan Expressway was awarded on Monday at a total cost of N160.7bn.
“The multi-lane road project, which will be handled by Julius Berger Construction Company and the RCC, will consist of three lanes on either side up to Sagamu junction, and two lanes up to Ibadan as well as a flyover and inter-change at the Redemption Camp to solve the perennial traffic gridlock on that portion of the road.”
He promised that the Federal Government would pay attention to the road, which he described as major.
Okupe also said the contractors had started mobilising to the site, adding that the government was determined to solve the crises on the road once and for all.
“Government is serious on infrastructure. You can see that major roads like the Kano-Maiduguri, Benin-Ore, Abuja-Lokoja, Owerri-Onitsha, Katsina-Daura and East-West roads and many others are being rehabilitated or reconstructed. The second Niger Bridge has been given out on concession and work is in steady progress,” the presidential aid said.
It will be recalled that the Minister of Works, Mr. Mike Onolememen, told journalists on Monday that the contract for the reconstruction of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway had been awarded to Julius Berger and RCC.
He, however, did not disclose the cost of the project.
Like the minister, Okupe also did not disclose the duration of the project.

Over 30 Killed In Plateau, While Jang Struggles For NGF Power In Abuja

Over 30 Killed In Plateau, While Jang Struggles For NGF Power In Abuja

Gov. Jonah Jang
By SaharaReporters, New York
While Governor Jonah Jang is in Abuja struggling for leadership of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF), more than 30 people have been killed this week in the Langtang area in a new wave of attacks by Fulani gunmen.
Humanitarian workers in the area told SaharaReporters that the attacks have been on since Tuesday in Karkashi, Magama and Bolgan of Langtang South local government area with headquarters in Mabudi.  The area is said to be the resettlement ground for veterans of the Second World War.  It is also the home of Taroh, Ngas, Kwallah, Youm, Montol, Goemai, and Mwaghavul ethnic groups who are the targets of Fulani gunmen.
The humanitarian workers said that houses and food barns have been burnt to ashes in the attacks, while the seriously injured were rushed to the Jos University Teaching Hospital and other nearby hospitals.
The attacks have come as Governor Jang remained in Abuja playing President Goodluck Jonathan’s stooge in his political feud with Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, jostling over his illegitimate claim to being chairman of the NGF.  Jang was defeated in the election to that position by 19 votes to 16 but with Mr. Jonathan’s support, has continued to pose as chairman.
Last year, Gen. Jeremiah Useni, who is from Langtang, accused Jang of being problem of the state, saying, “The state governor, Jonah Jang, is not doing anything to allay the fears of every citizens in the state. Some feel marginalized; some are called all sorts of names.  The problem is the Constitution giving all the powers to one man who refuses to cooperate; there is nothing we can do. He is not relating to people, the Berom themselves are divided—we have the Du versus other Beroms. Then you have the non-Beroms including Hausa-Fulani and ourselves, we are not Beroms.  One expects that as a governor of a state, everyone should be yours irrespective of tribe and other affiliations because everyone voted for you. So you cannot be a Berom governor or Hausa governor, everybody must be treated equally, failure to do that is inviting anarchy.
Useni lamented that civil servants were not being paid, pointing out that even in the local government administrations, some workers were being owed as much as four months and when they were paid, were given only half their salaries.
“Jang is not capable of running the state unless he changes his heart,” Useni said. “Don’t forget that there was a time the state was in turmoil for eight days. He was in India, sitting down there. He didn’t rush down and there have been many cases like that. When you advise him, he doesn’t listen to advice and when he was asked why he doesn’t take advice, he said he doesn’t have to take advice from anybody. How do you expect a governor to say that? Who doesn’t take advice, no matter how wise or clever you are? Even (the Biblical) King Solomon used to take advice.”

Kudirat's Murder: Plot to Free Al Mustapha Revealed

Kudirat's Murder: Plot to Free Al Mustapha Revealed: Former NBA President, Ibori Judge, Step In

By SaharaReporters, New York
Two critical characters from the hallways and byways of injustice in Nigeria have quietly stepped into the case of convicted Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, the once powerful Chief Security Officer to late dictator General Sanni Abacha.
Observers say their task is to set Mustapha free and frustrate the course of justice for slain democracy heroine, Kudirat Abiola.
Last May, Justice Ibrahim Saulawa, the lead judge of the Court of Appeal in Lagos withdrew from the appeal instituted by Al Mustapha citing personal reasons, but sources said he was miffed by  a high level of interference in the case.
The judge withdrew before the court registrar could announce that  a former President of the Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Joseph B Daudu (SAN) was becoming the lead counsel. Sources told Saharareporters that Mr. Daudu had quietly taken over the lucrative deal of representing Mustapha.  Next, Appeal Court judge Amina Augie, stepped in as the lead judge in the case on June 10, she took the briefing of mr. Daudu and reserved her ruling on the matter indefinitely.
Observers told SaharaReporters the deadly combination of Justice Augie and JB Daudu seems targeted at saving Mustapha's case and possibly freeing him of culpability for the killing of several pro -democracy activists with the aid of killer squads that were assembled and funded through his office during the Abacha years.
Daudu is no stranger to such jobs: he was the prosecutor handpicked by late General Abacha who served his government in the kangaroo trial of Ken Saro-Wiwa and 8 Ogoni activists, leading to the hanging of the activists on November 10, 1995.
Both Daudu and Augie were also later involved in the conspiracy to free former Delta State governor James Ibori from his first corruption trial in Kaduna in 2008. As the lead judge in the Kaduna Division of the Court of Appeal, it was Justice Augie who ruled that the former Delta state governor be returned for trial in the jurisdiction where he committed the offense of fraud, namely, his home state. That ruling paved the way for the Delta State government and the Federal High Court to collaborate to set up a kangaroo court headed by Justice Marcel Awokulehin. The Federal High Court Asaba was paid for, furnished and staffed by Ibori’s cousin, Governor Emmanuel Udughan. The court didn’t waste time in clearing Ibori of all 170 charges of corruption filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
It would be remembered that Ibori then became a free man, and was only forced to account for his crimes after he fled to Dubai, from where he was extradited to the United Kingdom for trial.  To forestall possible humiliation in the Court of Appeal, Justice Augie had been posted ahead to the Benin Division to prepare to deliver Ibori before the former governor took matters into his own hands and slipped away to Dubai.
Al Mustapha and James Ibori served general Abacha in deadly capacities during his terryfying reign. With Ibori reportedly involved in the killing of Pa Alfred Rewane, the main financier of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO). After Al Mustapha was arrested and detained for murder Ibori took over the upkeep of his family while he was governor Delta State.
A legal source in Lagos told SaharaReporters that the bizarre nature of the current trajectory of the Mustapha case is that Mr. Daudu, when he represented the son of the late dictator, Mohammed, in the same case during the Olusegun Obasanjo years had pleaded before the Supreme Court that Mustapha was the person responsible for Kudirat's death.  At that time, of course, he was serving as the counsel to Abacha's son.
After much wheeling and dealing in that case, a five-man panel headed by Justice Alpha Belgore ruled that the mere presence of Abacha's son at the time that Al Mustapha handed guns for the killing of Kudirat was not sufficient reason to find him guilty.  He was set free, leaving Al Mustapha to answer to the crimes alone.
However, a minority ruling by Justice Akintola Olufemi Ejiwunmi described the majority judgment by Belgore as a tyranny of the majority. It held that Abacha son gave the killers of Kudirat Abiola $10k each to flee the country and that he ought to be held culpable.
Also of great importance is that Sergeant Rogers, a key character in the killings of that era who is now paralyzed, did confess at the Oputa panel that it was Al Mustapha who killed Kudirat.
All of the secret maneuvers to free Al Mustapha from the hangman's noose were kept away from the public until SaharaReporters investigations began to yield fruit.
On 30 January 2012, Al Mustapha was sentenced to death by a Lagos High court judge over the 1996 daylight assassination of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, the wife of the acclaimed winner of the June 12 1993 election.

Three Stewards Fired Over Missing $250,000 Akpabio's Loot

Three Stewards Fired Over Missing $250,000 Akpabio's Loot At The Akwa Ibom Governor's Lodge in Abuja

Governor Godswill Akpabio
By SaharaReporters, New York
Three stewards working in the Akwa Ibom state governor's lodge in Asokoro, Abuja was on Friday summarily dismissed by the governor, Godswill Akpabio, over missing bundles of mint fresh dollars valued at over  $250,000 (N40 million) kept in the governor's bedroom.
The governor who reportedly issued the instruction to dispense with the services of the political appointees personally found out on Wednesday during his visit to Abuja that four bundles of the foreign currency he left in his bedroom had been stolen while he was gone to a dinner with president Goodluck Jonathan at the Aso Rock Villa.
Saharareporters gathered that the bundles dollars kept in the drawers  in the governor's bedroom were the leftovers from a trough of hard currency stashed away in a private security safe.
The governor reportedly expressed surprise that despite the near impregnable security in the lodge, coupled with the fact that the locks to that section of the lodge, including the governor's bedroom,  are routinely changed each time such heavy cash is brought in, the money could still disappear in the manner it did.
Though it could not be established firmly if the three steward were   responsible for the missing cash, it was gathered that they may have been given the boot for apparent negligence in allowing the real culprits to gain access to the otherwise restricted area of the lodge.
A source close to the lodge said more heads might roll as investigations are ongoing to find out the identities of the other culprits involved in the theft of Mr. Akpabio's cash haul.
According to the source, who pleaded anonymity, for fear of being victimized, accusing fingers are being pointed at  Maria Ekpekong another staff member at the lodge who is  the governor's senior special representative  in charge of the overall management of the lodge.
It was gathered that pilfering of huge cash in the lodge has become a recurring event. A few years ago, the governor removed all the civil servants deployed to work at the lodge and replaced them with political appointees and other private consultants he thought could be trusted.
In one  instance, it was learnt that after bundles of cash disappeared
under similar circumstances, the burglary proof and window protectors around the governor's apartment were changed sometime last year after the perpetrators broke through the ceiling to gain access to the room where cash was stacked in 'Ghana must go' bags.
Governor Akpabio frequently doles out state cash to buy political patronage and favors from various sectors of the Nigerian society.
Governor Akpabio is reckless with state funds, sometimes paying huge sums of money to buy himself awards  both at home and abroad. is trying to keep this incidence under wraps, our sources say.

5 Things To Observe Before going to BED

5 Things To Observe Before going to BED

Five things to observe before sleeping
black-woman-sleeping
1 – DON’T SLEEP WITH WATCHES Watches can emit a certain level of radioactivity. Though small, but if you wear your watch to bed for a long time, it might have adverse effects on your health.
2 – DON’T SLEEP WITH YOUR BRA ON Scientists have discovered those that wear bras for more than 12hours have a higher risk of getting chest cancer. So go to bed without it.
3 – DON’T SLEEP WITH YOUR PHONE Putting the phone beside your bed or anywhere near you is not encouraged. Though some of us will use phones as alarm clocks, but please put the phone as far as possible. Scientists have proved that electrical items including mobile phone and television sets emit magnetic waves when used. These waves can cause disruptions to our nervous system. Therefore if you need to put your mobile phone near you, switch it off first.

4 – DON’T SLEEP WITH MAKE UP ON People who sleep with make up might have skin problems in the long run. Sleeping with make up will cause the skin to have difficulty in breathing and problem in perspiring. You will also need a much longer time to go into deep sleep. Lastly & most importantly,

5 – DON’T SLEEP WITH OTHER PEOPLE’S WIFE/HUSBAND What goes round comes around!!..
